| This website is regularly updated and
maintained by The Biodiversity Team, drawn from the 6th Form students of
Charlestown Secondary School, under the supervision of the NHCS and its
Biodiversity Committee. It is hoped that by providing in-house
training in web page design, field studies and online research, students
will not only be able to ensure the continuation of the project but also
integrate their new skills into their academic careers.
It is also hoped that the students themselves
with act as trainers and mentors for the next group of students who will
eventually replace them and continue on with the project. In this
way the biodiversity project will truly be a sustainable community
effort.
The NHCS is also planning the construction
of dedicated "Biodiversity Resource Centre" to be housed within our
'Nelson Museum' facility early in 2008. This centre will provide a
dedicated work area and specialized equipment for project participants. |
